Product Description

The Burma Star is a military campaign medal that was awarded to members of the British and Commonwealth armed forces for their service during the Burma Campaign of World War II. The campaign took place between 1941 and 1945 and involved intense fighting against Japanese forces in the jungles and mountains of Burma (now Myanmar) and neighboring areas.

The design of the Burma Star badge is a six-pointed star made of bronze. The star is overlaid with a center disc featuring the Royal Cypher of King George VI, who was the reigning monarch at the time. Surrounding the cypher is a laurel wreath, symbolizing victory and honor.

On the obverse side of the medal, the words “The Burma Star” are inscribed around the edge, while the recipient’s name and service number can be engraved on the reverse side.

The Burma Star was awarded to all those who served in the operational area for at least one day between 1941 and 1945, including soldiers, sailors, airmen, and civilians who served in operational roles. The medal recognizes their bravery, sacrifice, and contribution in the challenging and arduous conditions of the Burma Campaign.

Today, the Burma Star is a cherished symbol of honor and valor for those who took part in the campaign, serving as a reminder of their dedication and resilience in the face of adversity during World War II.
